Franco Cardiello

is a confessional poet from New York. Self-reflection journals explore the

complexities of love, mental health,

his childhood, spiritual wandering,

and a search for inner calm.

Writing started as a young child to

help process traumatic events and analyze people, which evolved into his psychology studies. Self–reflections chiefly aim toward self–improvement,

so Franco doesn't shy away from admitting his flaws and mistakes.

Personal stories are emotional and

honest as they sway between gritty

and tender. Critics agree that his

books bleed, and readers cannot help

but self-reflect on their own

experiences.

After living in the juvenile justice

system, Franco earned his master’s in clinical social work and adolescent and family therapy from Fordham University. As a licensed counselor,

Franco often utilizes journaling with clients because written self-reflections help manage complex emotions and

gain deeper understandings of

troubling experiences.

From tutoring college students,

coaching adults, and facilitating groups in juvenile jails, Franco is a strong believer and advocate for the power

of cathartic writing. This technique

fosters education, communication, empathy, and personal development. He began intuitive cathartic writing

as a boy, studied both writing and psychology for many years, taught

the techniques, and then began publishing his past journals many

years later.

Some of his earliest poems were

published in Soul-Lit, Down in the Dirt, Nine Muses, Literary Yard, Scars, and

U City Review. Selected titles were chosen for spotlight winners, for the

“Outside The Box” anthology, and for

the “Existential Threats” anthology.

But Franco didn't publish his late

adolescent diaries until more than a decade after they were written. So he decided to backtrack his writing and publish the books chronologically

to depict his overarching personal development. Therefore, after three decades of journaling,  a prolific collection is forthcoming.

Two upcoming books, Rip Her Out

of Me, and Getting Through the Night,

will publish in 2026 to finalize his

series on broken hearts. His next

2-book-series, releasing in 2027,

discusses his childhood. And lastly,

his novel, Everything’s Crooked, plans

publication for autumn of 2028.
